Texas Retreat!!!

Stamp Lauderdale's
first annual
Rubber Stamp Retreat Weekend
TEXAS STYLE!
Friday, April 12 - Sunday April 14, 2013
Salado, Texas

After several stamping cruises, I did my first "land-based retreat" in September in Ft. Lauderdale. The response was amazing, and we all had so much fun. It made me realize the need for these events. We all had a weekend of forgetting about everything else in our lives, creating, and enjoying life!
Why Texas? Well, many of you know that when we opened Stamp Salado I flew out to Texas once a month for about three years (stayed with my Texas husband, Mark, - how did I ever stand that??) and taught a long weekend chock full of classes. You all became my Texas family, so it was an easy decision! Not only were you my family but you taught me SO much about your state -- "up-dos" (something about the higher the hair the closer to God and it must require hairspray), "bling", "bluebonnets", that "The Eyes of Texas" is actually the UT fight song, and that Davy Crockett isn't a Disney character! I'm laughing as I type this at all of the fun times and great memories I have of those days!

Salado is a quaint little town with lots of unique shopping and is a good central location whether you're coming from San Antonio or Dallas/Ft. Worth. Hopefully the bluebonnets will be blooming and you'll be able to find some "Kodak Moments!" If you're flying in, Salado is about an hour north of Austin. Killeen also has a small airport which is only about 30 minutes away but has a limited number of flights.
Last year,  Mark and I did a full week of travel and rubber stamp classes. It was so much fun seeing all of you again and meeting so many new faces! I know I tend to ramble, but I don't want to leave anything out! I will be sending this e-mail out to my list - which consists of MANY Florida stampers. You, of course, are more than welcome. We had FIVE Texans at our Stamp Lauderdale Retreat in September! The more the merrier -- now for the details . . .
I have booked The Holiday Inn Express in Salado for the event! GREAT Texas hospitality, and I rented the entire meeting area for our "shin-dig" - we don't want to share our space! They have given us such a GREAT price for the rooms ($99.00 per night). Your options are either a room with one king bed or a room with two queen beds. They agreed to allow us to have up to four ladies per room at NO EXTRA CHARGE!!! PLUS the hotel provides AT NO EXTRA CHARGE a FULL Breakfast. It's a great facility. I read the reviews on line and EVERYONE gave it all FIVE stars - I also put "my people" on it and it's a GO!

Now, if you're local, it doesn't matter if you drive back and forth - the hotel rooms are an option for those wanting to make a "get-away weekend" out of it. Your choice! $99.00 per night plus taxes!!

To book your room or see more info on the hotel visit their website at:
or call Holiday Inn Express directly for reservations at 254-947-4004
4 to a room$25.00 each per night
3 to a room $33.00 each per night
2 to a room $50.00 each per night
1 to a room $99 each per night

Such a deal! Our stamping weekend will include TWO make-n-takes and THREE classes. The event will begin Friday at 5:30 p.m. with check-in! We'll be all set up in the classrooms and at check-in you will pick up your goody bags. You'll get your schedule in your "goody bag". I will make sure your class schedule is the same as your roommates and friends (make sure you e-mail me your requests)!

Our classes will be taught by Margarita Jaramillo (she has taught in Florida for 15 years and is fabulous -- so creative -- our "artsy" teacher), Mark Jetton of Deadbeat Designs -- you all know that his talent and creativity never stops, and I will be teaching the 3rd class - teaching has always been my favorite part of owning a rubber stamp store - we make a great team -- wonderful VARIETY!! Margarita and I will be flying in from South Florida for a real TEXAS HOE DOWN!

We'll be stamping, laughing, and partying Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday morning. The price for the entire "stamping class and make-n-take package" is $135.00 per person. If you would like, you can pay on Pay Pal by clicking the button below. If you would rather send me a check for the stamping portion (my address is below), that works great as well.
If you would rather pay by check for the classes, send $135.00 to:
Lynn Lloyd
2100 South Ocean Drive, Apt. 6K
Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316
(make checks out to Stamp Shack)

It's so important that we have an idea of how many of you are interested in attending as we will be using ALL NEW rubber stamps designed especially for this event. I want this to be a fun weekend for all of you -- I promise it will be FULL OF TECHNIQUES and we will make special memories once again! If you have friends in the Texas area, please forward this e-mail to them or forward me their e-mail addresses so we can get the word out to EVERYONE. PASS IT ON . . .
